Sterling Care Training Centre
We are passionate about training and about equipping our staff to meet the needs of our service users. Sterling Care trains all employees to the same high standard regardless of previous qualifications and experience. Sterling Care currently offers training to all domiciliary staff. Essential Skills training is provided to staff where relevant literacy issues are identified.
Induction Workbooks
All staff complete a comprehensive induction training programme, progressing through a series of workbooks which are designed to demonstrate their understanding and appreciation of all areas of service delivery.
Mentoring
Staff are allocated to a Training / Quality Officer, and given the opportunity to witness our core competencies in practice. The period of mentoring is concluded with a structured meeting where the staff member is afforded an opportunity to ask questions and to identify further training needs.
The mentoring process is followed in for the next 6 months of work with the company. During this time each staff member has an allocated Training / Quality Officer.
This relationship allows for continuous professional development and ensures that staff feel confident about asking questions and seeking guidance.

Sign Off
The induction process is concluded through the sign-off programme. This programme ensures that each core competency is evidenced and recorded. It also used as an opportunity for staff to discuss and agree an ongoing Personal Development Plan.
The Induction Workbook training has also been delivered to all current staff over the previous twelve months. In doing so we have sought to ensure that all staff have a similar skill and competency level. During the past twelve months we have also delivered Manual Handling Update and Protection of Vulnerable Adult Update training to all current staff.
